IMPORTANT SURGERY UPDATE APRIL 2018

We know the NHS is constantly in the news, but we would like you to know that we are constantly listening to Patient feedback, and improving or changing what we do. But we also need YOUR help !

We are expanding our Clinical Team by welcoming Franka, an Advance Nurse Practitioner, and Richard , a Paramedic Practitioner from May. Both have worked, trained and live locally.

They are fully qualified and experienced in supporting the existing doctors and nurses with their skills. Our trained Receptionists will be able to book patients, including children, with the appropriate person, which will allow patients ultimately to be seen more timely by the right person. REMEMBER- if the Receptionist is asking questions it’s to see who can deal with your problem best. ALL staff are bound by rules of confidentiality.

We also hope with the expansion of the Team, we can do ‘Triage’ more regularly, for which we had a lot of positive feedback when we launched it last year.

We now have a dedicated telephone room away from Reception with a new phone system. This allows us to record and monitor calls and be more efficient. Don’t forget to sign up for on line access for ordering prescriptions and making/cancelling appointments!

Please remember that home visits are only for Patients who are bedbound or end of life care. It is becoming increasingly apparent that lack of transport is a reason for a visit request and this is not justifiable. In the time is takes for one doctor to visit one patient at home several patients could have been seen in a clinic at the surgery.

We have an active Patient Participation Group and need more members to help develop YOUR Surgery. If you are willing to join or be a volunteer, we would be grateful if you gave your details to Reception.
